Ruth and Tamar
Two Gentile women, Ruth and Tamar, were considered worthy to be listed in the genealogy of Jesus Christ.
Theirs are stories of how ordinary human beings can make a difference. Both are childless widows who desire a child to perpetuate the name of their dead husbands.
Both in this Old Testament society had to do daring acts which could be open to misinterpretation. With these women, you see true greatness where you least expect it, and in their difficult situations they gave birth to royalty.
